Anadia

Located in the center of Bairrada, it is known that Anadia was guaranteed to be occupied during the Roman period and would be a crossing point on the road that connected Lisbon to Porto. Its occupation is proven by
testimonies found a little throughout the area of the county.  The prehistoric occupation is not yet proven, but it will not be ruled out.

Being a municipality with almost five centuries of existence, Anadia has known, throughout its history, successive administrative changes , some of them occurred very recently, and which eventually resulted in the distribution of its territory in the current fifteen civil parishes and its connection to the district and diocese of Aveiro.

Anadia
In architectural terms, the main attractions are the Chapel of S. Sebastião, located in the center of the village of Anadia, the Chapel of Our Lady of Piety or the Pintos, built in the seventeenth century, and the Chapel of Our Lady of Lezírias, built in the mid-17th century.

In handicrafts, Anadia has rag dolls made in the parish of Tamengos and basketry spread throughout the county.

As far as the economy is concerned, the primary sector prevails, with vine farming, agriculture, and livestock farming - especially pig, to feed the regional catering industry.

The wine-growing stain, producer of the famous wines and sparkling wines, which crosses the parish of Paredes do Bairro, is one of the most beautiful landscapes that can be enjoyed in the municipality of Anadia.

Termas da Curia_Anadia
In gastronomic terms, the dish with the most prominence is the piglet of Bairrada, traditional of the region. In addition to this delicacy, you can taste the piglet cabidela, the sarrabulho and the nebulas. The area is also rich in cod dishes, such as the typical Cod To Lord Prior of Tamengos. In the sweets, you can taste the sweet rice, the fins, the nun's bellies and curia's loves.

The termalism is one of the main tourist attractions of Anadia. The Curia spa has a park, which in addition to the Hotel, has an artificial lake, several bridges, playgrounds and tea house.   Whenyou are up to date, they offer the inhabitants and visitors of the municipality the thermal tradition combined with comfort and modern technology, satisfying the requirements of the aquista throughout the year, both for a thermal cure and for a relaxing holiday. The stermas of vale da Mó are known for the quality of their waters, rich in iron and magnesium, which make them unique in Europe.
