Ansião is a village full of history. With occupation since prehistoric times, it also has traces of Roman and more recent times, which you can still visit during your visit to the county. We highlight the architectural heritage, the pillory, the cal bridge of six hundred, the Mother Church and the Chapel of Mercy, but also the tapir of Atalaia.
Bathed by the River Nabão, the municipality offers its tourists river beaches of great beauty and a large number of merendas parks, in which you can enjoy the contact with nature to enjoy relaxed moments. In the municipality, you can also enjoy walks to get to know the most hidden corners of Ansião.
The municipality is endowed with several structures and services necessary for the well-being and convenience of the inhabitants and their visitors. In terms of access, it is about 42 km from Leiria and about 48 km from Coimbra, by motorway.
In Ansian gastronomy, we highlight the soups rich in vegetables and traditional dishes such as albardada sardines, stewed broad beans, porridges with cornflour and chícharos with small cabbage and potato with the wheel, the goat and the lamb of Sicó.
