Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo
From the 1st to the 25th of December, Largo Mateus de Castro will once again be transformed into the epicenter of the Christmas spirit, offering a series of attractions and activities specially designed for children.
The lighting of the "Figueira Terra Natal" will be switched on on December 1st, in front of the City Hall, featuring LED technology to reduce electricity consumption. These Christmas lights will extend through several streets of the village.
After the lighting, the party moves to Largo Mateus de Castro, where a series of attractions await visitors, including the Mercadinho, the Enchanted Forest, the Giant Gift, the Mini Christmas Wheel, the Parisian Carousel, the Book Fair and several characters from the Christmas universe.
The Christmas bonfire will also be given special prominence, maintaining the tradition of gathering the inhabitants of Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo around it. The bonfire will be lit on December 24 at Largo Serpa Pinto.
Carlos Condesso, the mayor of the municipality, expresses his enthusiasm: "After the success of previous editions, we will continue to innovate in our 'Homeland' and offer a variety of activities and amusements for the general population, especially for our children, while preserving the traditions and magic of Christmas."
Condesso also points out that with the "Figueira Terra Natal," they intend to boost the local economy, support traditional commerce and attract more visitors to the county, making the village even more colorful and cheerful this festive season.
The President appeals to local businesses and the entire community to decorate their windows, windows, balconies and facades with Christmas themes, so that Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo shines even brighter during this special period of the year.
